Pronounced “Nay Tops.” Simply put, a training program detailing procedures for air operations in general, and for specific naval aircraft with the aim of reducing accidents and improving combat effectiveness. There are multiple NATOPS manuals, such as ones for individual aircraft. It’s been said that each manual has been written in blood.
